Overview

Bury Council is seeking a provider to provide a Rough Sleepers service that will support rough sleepers to move off the streets in Bury as quickly as possible into appropriate accommodation, either supported or suitable independent accommodation. A Bed Every Night (ABEN) is an Greater Manchester initiative to provide a safe place for rough sleepers to sleep during the night and also access needed support to move on to more permanent forms of accommodation.

ABEN forms one part of a series of coordinated approaches including the Rough Sleeper Initiative, Rapid Rehousing Programme, and Housing First pilot, all of which should be delivered with reference to one another and provide options and complementary resources for people who rough sleep. In Bury the service will provide a co-ordinated response to provide accommodation and support on nights between the 1st July 2021 and the 31st March 2022.

The service will endeavour to ensure that accommodation is followed up with holistic support enabling individuals to address their needs and obtain and sustain accommodation leading to them becoming independent. The service will operate for 9 months with an option to extend by up to an additional 24 months.

Additional details

Any extension will be dependent upon the continued availability of funding and performance of the Provider during the contract period. The closing time for completed quotation submissions, via The Chest, is 12 noon on Friday 30th April 2021.
