Overview

The University of Edinburgh is undertaking preliminary market engagement to improve our understanding of current and emerging supplier capabilities, products and solutions for a Student Record Platform. The University is interested in student record systems that can integrate with its existing landscape, with the potential to rationalise and simplify the complexity of its current environment.

This includes supporting areas such as exceptional circumstances, scholarships and assessment and progression, with the aim of delivering a more streamlined and effective solution. The University currently has contractual arrangements in place for its existing student record system.

This engagement forms part of longer-term planning and is intended to improve understanding of how the market is evolving, inform the University's business requirements and support the development of its strategic planning and any future procurement strategy. Please see the attached documentation for further information and details of the documents to be returned by interested suppliers.

Additional details

Responses will be reviewed by the University to inform its understanding of the current market, available technologies and delivery approaches. The information provided will support longer-term planning, strategic planning and, where appropriate, any future procurement strategy.

This Prior Information Notice (PIN) is issued solely for the purpose of preliminary market engagement. It is not a call for competition and should not be interpreted as a commitment to undertake a procurement exercise or award any contract.

Should a procurement be taken forward, it is anticipated that this could take place at any point within the next three to five years. The University welcome participation from all interested suppliers.

Participation is voluntary, at each suppliers’ own cost and will not affect any future procurement process. Suppliers should mark their email with ‘PIN Response “SUPPLIER NAME”– Student Record Platform’.
