Overview
Leicester City Council (the Council) is planning to procure new services for people with sight loss and dual visual and sensory impairment. Procurement is anticipated to take place in the Autumn 2018 for new services to be in place from 1st April 2019.
Prior to that, consultation will be carried out to gather stakeholders' views on our commissioning proposals. The purpose of the new contract will be to ensure that services are available to meet the Council's statutory obligations under the Care Act 2014 to provide support to people in Leicester who have sight loss or dual sensory impairment.
As part of the commissioning process, the Council is undertaking a soft market test. This gives potential providers and other stakeholders the opportunity to express their interests and feed in their views about the commissioning proposals.
