Overview

The Integrated Care Board (ICB) is undertaking a market testing exercise to inform the future commissioning of a Community Non-Obstetric Ultrasound (NOUS) service. Current Delivery Model: The service is currently commissioned across the footprint and delivered by multiple providers in community settings, resulting in variation in access, pathways, reporting, and capacity.

Future Model Under Consideration: The ICB is exploring potential options for the future commissioning of the Community Non-Obstetric Ultrasound service. At this stage, no final decision has been made.

This market testing exercise is intended to understand provider appetite, capability, and the feasibility of different delivery approaches. The models currently under consideration are:  Single Provider Model A single organisation holds responsibility for delivering the full service across the entire footprint.  Lead Provider Model One organisation holds the contract and takes overall accountability for the service, working with partner organisations or subcontractors to deliver services across the footprint.

Please note that an expression of interest in delivering the Non-Obstetric Ultrasound Service (NOUS) is not a tender response. An expression of interest is no indication of a commitment to participate in the tender process nor does it infer any special status on those providers who do submit an interest.

The market response to this notice will be used to inform the Commissioner’s view as to any future process to select the most suitable approach to meet its commissioning intentions. This does not commit the NHS West Yorkshire Integrated Care Board to undertake a procurement.

NHS West Yorkshire Integrated Care Board has the right to withdraw this notice. The response window will be open for 9 days and will close 3 June 2026 at 12 pm.
