The project will also comprise the licensed removal of asbestos containing materials from the building prior to demolition and recycling of all waste materials where possible.
The residential complex includes 5 no. three-storey residential blocks, connecting single-storey concourse, boiler stack and oil storage tanks. The buildings are CLASP Mk 4 construction comprising concrete panel curtain walling fixed to a steel frame.
The floors and original flat roof are timber construction and windows and doors aluminium. A steel frame pitched roof was later installed on the residential blocks with metal profiled sheets.
