Overview
The works at Valley Road Park, Nottingham comprise the resurfacing of a block of three painted macadam tennis courts, new fencing and an access control system. The courts are surfaced with painted porous macadam, the courts are serviceable but are fretting and cracking in some places.
The tennis posts and sockets are in a reasonable condition, the nets must be replaced. New sockets must be installed to accommodate the new layer of macadam thickness.
The chainlink fencing on angle iron posts is in a serviceable condition, but has evidence of vandalism to gain access, it is recommended that this be replaced with a weldmesh roll system. The block paviour kerbing is in a good condition, and it is proposed to leave this in place and marry the new macadam surface in with the top of the blocks over 400mm.
