Overview
Central Bedfordshire Council invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced organisations to provide non-statutory preventative services across Central Bedfordshire and Bedford Borough. Provision of services will focus on providing support for both carers and people with health conditions or disabilities and is intended to deliver four primary outcomes that underpin health and wellbeing.
These outcomes are: • People can live independently in their own home • People are able to participate in their community • People are not socially isolated or lonely • People are safe and secure These services are to be provided to adults 18 years and over. This includes all older people (65+), carers, adults with sensory, physical or learning disabilities, with an autistic spectrum condition, and adults who have had a stroke or have dementia.
In addition, services are required for sibling and young carers. The overall aim of this tendering exercise is to develop the voluntary and community sector provision in Bedfordshire to ensure that people have access to high quality and effective support solutions that enable them to maintain their wellbeing, remain independent in their own homes and participate in their communities.
