Overview
The London Borough of Brent wishes to create a positive environment for volunteering. The council is seeking a provider to develop an accredited Volunteer Centre that provides quality assured volunteering services and to put in place a medium term strategic volunteering approach for Brent.
The council will support the initial set up costs of the volunteer centre, but would expect the provider to move towards an independent, sustainable business model over time. The contract will cover provision of an accessible centre with outreach, volunteer brokerage with high conversion rates, marketing volunteering using the national Do It database, developing engaging volunteering opportunities, policy response and campaigning, gaining Volunteer Centre Quality Accreditation and developing and executing a medium term strategic plan for volunteering in collaboration with the council and its partners.
It is anticipated that the contract will commence in 1st April 2015 for a 2 year period with the option to extend for a 1 year. Tender documentation will be available to download on expression of interest.
