Overview
*Please note, the deadline for this exercise has now been extended to 12:00 hours on 2nd September 2019* Leicester City Council will be leading a consortium of statutory bodies to plan and procure new services for people diagnosed with dementia and their carers. Procurement is anticipated to take place in early 2020 for new services to be in place from 1st October 2020.
Prior to that, consultation will be carried out to gather stakeholders' views on our commissioning proposals. The purpose of the new contract will be to ensure that services are available to meet the Council's statutory obligations under the Care Act 2014 to provide support to people in Leicester who have dementia or care for those who do.
As part of the commissioning process, the Council is undertaking a soft market test. This gives potential providers and other stakeholders the opportunity to express their interests and feed in their views about the commissioning proposals.
