Overview
Note: Alternative contract period for bids (ITT amended 23/03/2018) We invite bids on the original contract period of 1 year + optional 3 years + optional 1 year, but if better value can be obtained across a 2 year + optional 2 year + optional 1 year contract, then please detail these costs separately in your bid. This is to offer bidders a higher security option on the contract. ______________________________________________________________________________________________ The University of Sheffield Accommodation and Commercial Services (ACS) wishes to appoint a customer facing company for the provision of a linen (Laundry and/or Hire) service who can provide an excellent service that is efficient and reliable.
The services provided by the successful contractor are key to those provided to our customers, and as such the University requires a company who can respond to its needs, sometimes at very short notice. The primary business of ACS is the accommodation of its student residents, however during the summer months or in times of lower than anticipated demand for this accommodation, it also operates an ever expanding conference service and business.
It is this business which requires the laundering of ACS's owned linen and furnishings (e.g. sheets, towels, curtains), and also the hire of linen (e.g. sheets and towels). Whilst the majority of the business requirement is currently through the summer months, there may also be an ad-hoc requirements during term time laundering.
