Markets can also commence prior to March if operators wish. The market must provide of a minimum of 10 stalls and a maximum of 40 stalls per day.
The focus of this tender process is to secure market provision for the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th weekend of each month and also the annual Southsea Food Festival that takes place in July and the Christmas light switch-on mid-November, however all days of the week are available and bids are also welcomed for block periods throughout the year, e.g. during the summer holidays and half terms. Periods which are not available are the month of December as there is a festive market for which a contract is already in place and therefore is out of scope for this opportunity.
