Overview
The Smoking Cessation Service is made up of a 12-week behavioural programme and a nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) scheme. Providers can choose to deliver the 12-week programme, the NRT scheme or both.
Contracts awarded to eligible Providers to deliver Smoking Cessation Services following the 'Direct Award Process B' as set out in the Health Care Services [Provider Selection Regime (PSR)] Regulations 2023. "Direct Award Process B" means the process set out in regulation 8 for the award of a contract without a competition.
There is a fixed fee / tariff for services delivered. The contracts commenced on 1st October 2024 up to the end of September 2025 initially with an option to extend for a further 2 years subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability. This is a service to be provided by new providers.
