Overview
The Ring Ouzel is red-listed on the British and Welsh Birds of Conservation Concern due to long term declines in breeding population and range. This species is of particular interest to the National Trust and our partners in Nant Ffrancon as an indicator species of a mosaic of habitats in good condition.
We have some survey data from April-May 2026 and require further surveys to complete a baseline of Ring Ouzel in Nant Ffrancon. This will be undertaken in the breeding season of 2026, with follow up surveys in 2027 and 2028.
This contract will start in June 2026, and the final report will be required by end of September 2026, with follow up reports in 2027 and 2028. We also require several training and engagement events to be delivered in Nant Ffrancon to raise awareness about this species and wider conservation work.
