Birmingham City Council requires a supplier for the provision of a community outreach network to support delivery of the Brum Breathes programme through awareness building and engagement with community groups - especially within the Clean Air Zone (CAZ). This is part of the Behavioural Change sub-programme in the Council's Brum Breathes programme to improve air quality in the city.
The successful provider will • Create a network of Brum Breathes champions by engaging with community groups and recruiting individuals, ensuring that there are a sufficient number of people to work with the identified community groups. • Provide a programme of training (to cover the duration of the project) to ensure these champions have a level of understanding about the impacts of poor air quality and the ways in which people can improve air quality. • Produce a resource pack and other resources that can be used by the champions to help raise awareness around the impacts of poor air quality and the support available to residents and workers in the CAZ (as and when that information is available). Following the project the resources will be available for communities to access freely on the Brum Breathes website (www.brumbreathes.co.uk). • Include a project evaluation aspect to report the reach and impact that the community champions have had over the six month project period.
