Overview
The ONS is intending to recruit academic and/or private sector economists and statisticians to deliver research on the development of methods to estimate children's social care (CSC) output. Ideal measures of public service output (including children's social care output) use a system of direct indicators, following the System of National Accounts 2008 and the Atkinson Review (2005).
This work will contribute to improved measures of output and productivity of the public sector in the UK. Objectives: The aim of the project is to identify data sources and develop methods to measure the output of children's social care directly.
It is estimated that the work should take no more than 30 days between February 2020 and June 2020. Delivery of an interim report must be made by 31st March 2020.
