Overview
Aberdeen City Council, acting on behalf of the Partner Councils, has agreed a variation to the Ness Energy Project Emergency Operation and Maintenance Contract with SUEZ Recycling and Recovery UK Ltd. The existing contract includes extension provisions up to 31 July 2027. The modification extends the contract term beyond that date to 31 January 2028 to maintain continuity of operation of the Ness EfW Facility pending completion of the ongoing competitive procurement for a long-term O&M contract.
The modification is being made in reliance upon Regulation 72(1)(b) of the Public Contracts (Scotland) Regulations 2015. The procurement timetable currently anticipates replacement arrangements commencing around early 2028.
