Overview

This information is requested as part of a soft market testing exercise in order to seek the market's solution to detect lateral movement at any point in the track over a 100m length, including in curves and in turnout routes in S&C. The two scenarios in mind are to detect gauge spread in S&C turnouts and to detect the presence of a track buckle.

The solution ideally will: 1. Be portable to enable management of various sites based on engineering need 2.

Transmit alerts to Engineers - positive confirmation at a suitable interval that the track hasn't moved but an alarm when the track is showing signs of irregular or sudden movement 3. Withstand the operating environment - vibrations, minor track movement and weather 4.
