Wigan Council is seeking to establish a Day Opportunities Quality Framework to deliver high-quality, person-centred support for adults with care and support needs across the Borough. The Council is committed to working collaboratively with individuals, communities and partner organisations to provide opportunities that enable adults to achieve fulfilling and meaningful lives.The Council's approach is founded on recognising and building upon individual strengths, aspirations and potential, promoting independence, choice and control, and supporting adults to participate fully in their local communities.The provision of Day Opportunities contributes to Wigan's Progress with Unity mission by reducing barriers associated with disability, ill health and social isolation. Through strengths-based and outcome-focused support, services will help adults develop confidence, independence and life skills, while creating pathways into volunteering, education, training and employment.Providers will be expected to deliver services that contribute to reducing health and social inequalities and support individuals to achieve their personal outcomes.The Framework is intended to support a diverse range of adults with differing levels of need.
