Overview
The transfer of commissioning responsibility for public health nursing services for 0-5 year olds, from NHS England to Nottinghamshire County Council (the Council) in October 2015, brought together commissioning responsibility for all public health nursing services for 0-19 year olds within Nottinghamshire and offered opportunities for integration. Nottinghamshire County Council is now seeking to procure an integrated Healthy Child and Public Health Nursing programme for 0-19 year olds, to be operational from 1st April 2017.
The primary aim of the service will be to offer an integrated public health nursing service in line with the Healthy Child Programme to all families in Nottinghamshire. The Healthy Child Programme is the Department of Health’s early intervention and prevention public health programme. It offers every family a programme of developmental reviews, health needs assessments and information and guidance to support parenting and promote healthy choices.
