Overview
Community Opportunities are an important contribution to Newcastle City Council's commitment to enabling people in Newcastle to age well, by providing support and carer relief that enables people to be socially connected to their community, to live as independently as possible and lead safe and active lives. It will offer flexible, high-quality, support, with a focus on connecting people to their communities, maximising independence, and helping to prevent admission into long term residential care or hospital.
The approach of commissioning Community Opportunities will assist with creating a wider offer encompassing a continuum of social care-related support inclusive of four key areas: prevention, crisis, and long-term support. One building base will operate in the North and East of the city and the other in the Inner West and Outer West of the city. Block contract.
