Mattress Recycling

The contract will deliver a mattress recycling service to collect, haul and recycle all mattress waste created in Hackney over a two year period. An estimated 37,440 mattresses (of all sizes and type) will be collected from Millfields Road Depot (E5 0AR) and recycled over the two year contract duration, which equates to an average of 1,560 mattresses requiring collection and processing per month (estimated quantities are based on current levels plus growth and therefore are not guaranteed).

At least 80% by weight of all material collected shall be recycled, with no more than 20% being disposed of via landfill or incineration. All legal documentation such as licenses and transfer notes will be presented as required and performance reports will be submitted on a monthly basis.
