Overview
Social Care Wales is seeking to commission a suitably experienced and qualified provider to design, develop and deliver a structured 20 credit module taught course mapped to the Level 4 Preparing for Leadership and Management in Children’s Care, Play, Learning and Development qualification and relevant National Occupational Standards (NOS). Each course is anticipated to be over a 10-month period with one session per month.
The commissioned pilot programme will provide high-quality, accessible and flexible learning opportunities to support eligible learners to undertake and successfully complete the course. This work is intended to go some way to address workforce challenges by developing and strengthening leadership knowledge skills, capacity and supporting progression into management roles, and providing a clear and accessible career pathway.
It will contribute to improved workforce stability, increased retention, and enhanced sector resilience. It will also support the development of a workforce that is appropriately skilled, qualified and fit for purpose, aligning with Welsh Government priorities to expand high-quality, accessible early years and childcare provision and to ensure a sustainable, confident and capable workforce able to meet current and future demand.
