Overview

***This advert is for market engagement only*** The commissioner has published this Prior Information Notice to advertise further market engagement for a future NHS Kent and Medway Conveyance Response Vehicles (CRV) service for Mental Health. Following a virtual Market Engagement held on 11th March 2026, the Commissioner would like to provide the opportunity to the market to engage in 1 to 1 meeting so that the Commissioner can gain a more in depth understanding around the opportunities and constraints of the proposed model.

The proposed contract term will be three years, with a two-year extension option. The aim of the Conveyance Response Vehicles for Mental Health Service is to provide a safe and effective transport to convey a specified cohort of individuals between the community (following Mental Health assessment), Emergency Department (ED), Health Based Place of Safety and Mental Health Inpatient Services.

For individuals detained under Section 136 where ED is used as the Health Based Place of Safety, a sitting staff service will be provided. The 1-1 sessions will take place between 5th May and 7th May 2026.
