Dental Services as a Branch Surgery in Bicester, Oxfordshire

This notice is placed as a Prior Information Notice with regards to Dental Services in Bicester and is therefore to determine whether there is interest from Providers in this service. Publication or response to this notice does not commit NHS England or respondents to award any contracts or to any future procurement.

NHS England (South East) is seeking additional primary care dental provision in Bicester, Oxfordshire on an interim basis for a two year period from 1st July 2018 to 30th June 2020. This is due to growing pressures on local services as a result of population growth following the building of a substantial number of new houses over the last few years.

NHS England (South East) is seeking the provision of up to an additional 7,000 Units of Dental Activity (UDAs) in the town to be commissioned on the basis of a branch surgery from a current NHS provider. This activity will be commissioned within the financial envelope and activity target currently in place with the practice concerned.

If providers feel that the opening of a branch surgery in Bicester is an effective way to achieve full delivery of their contracted activity, this may be of interest. There are a number of issues applicants will need to consider.
