Overview
West Devon borough Council, and Teignbridge District Council are expected to collect an estimated 7 000 tonnes per annum of food and kitchen waste which requires processing to PAS 110 standards or equivalent from 1.4.2017. Also, South Hams District Council currently collects its food waste mixed with garden waste, but is expected to switch to the separate collection of food waste from April 2018.
This is estimated to be around 3800 tonnes per annum. The District Councils of Mid Devon, and East Devon are expected to collect an estimated 9 000 tonnes per annum of food and kitchen waste which requires processing to PAS 110 standards or equivalent from 1.4.2017.
Exeter City Council doesn't currently collect food waste but may choose to collect food waste during the term of this contract. This waste is estimated to be around 4 700 tonnes per annum.
