Some more information about what Ofcom needs: The study needs to contain information on what 8-17 year olds are doing online. This is an extension beyond our current study which only goes up to the age of 14.

Ideally we’d like to be able to answer questions about children’s online usage levels and refer to fairly recent usage at any time during the year, so this may mean continuous monitoring or at least a multi-wave approach during the year. The data must be able to be used for enforcement and regulation activities.
Our main aim is to ensure that our thinking about the objectives and structure of the study match market capability both in terms of new possibilities and also limitations. We anticipate a budget range to be between £1m - £1.5m. These figures are for the potential 4 year contract term.
