The service is for the region – Birmingham and Solihull and is for the delivery of housebound Covid-19 vaccination clinics. To provide comprehensive additional outreach and vaccination capacity across the Birmingham and Solihull (BSol) system to ensure equitable access for all housebound residents of signed up practices for COVID vaccinations regardless of location, age, ethnicity, or socioeconomic status.
Build and maintain trust within communities whilst being culturally sensitive and maintaining/improving accessibility for the supported patient cohort. Understand and address health disparities and ensure that all referred residents have equal opportunity for vaccinations.
Provide culturally sensitive and linguistically appropriate vaccination services to diverse BSol communities to enhance the understanding of the evidence for vaccination against the risks of not being vaccinated thereby improving uptake and acceptance. Ensure the safety and clinical effectiveness of a high-quality service provision, both by the provider, and collaboration with system vaccination providers across BSol.
Increase vaccination rate among housebound population to secure and maintain optimum herd immunity. Population need that must be covered: Ensure accessibility to COVID vaccinations for housebound or care home residents across the ICS’ geographical footprint, regardless of location, background, or circumstances, offering COVID vaccinations to all eligible cohorts.
Ensure groups are not disadvantaged by socioeconomic or demographic background, and review delivery in line with needs The Provider has been selected as they have a proven ability to deliver housebound clinics with an existing trained workforce and can mobilise immediately ensuring continuity. The contract start date is 1 October 2026 with a contract end date of 31 January 2026.
The contract period is less than 4 months. The total contract value is capped at £11,310.00 over the contract term and will be determined by the number of vaccinations delivered, with payment made on an item-of-service basis only.
