Overview
Leicester City Council (the 'Authority') invites Tenders for the provision of a Carers Support Service. The Authority is seeking a service provider who will build on the current range of support provided to carers in Leicester and in accordance with local and national best practice to deliver the outcomes detailed in the service specification.
The proposed Contract will be for an initial period of 3 years to commence on 1st July 2019 with an option to extend, subject to satisfactory performance outcomes and agreement by the Authority, availability of funding beyond 30th June 2022 which is not guaranteed, for a further period or periods up to a total of 24 months, taking the contract term to a maximum of 60 months. It is the Authority's view that TUPE is likely to apply in respect of this contract.
TUPE refers to the "Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations 2006" as amended by the "Collective Redundancies and Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) (Amendment) Regulations 2014". However, tenderers will need to reach their own conclusion as to whether or not TUPE applies.
