When – Thursday 22nd October 2026 at 2pm – 4pm
Where - Huddersfield Town Hall – meeting room 3
Kirklees Council is developing how adults day opportunities are delivered in Kirklees.
We are inviting providers to take part in a market engagement and co production event, to help shape the future service specification and commissioning model for these services.
This event forms part of our early market engagement activity and is intended to gather insight from providers to ensure that any future arrangements are deliverable, sustainable, and reflective of current market conditions.
We are particularly keen to engage with
- Providers currently delivering day opportunities for older people or people living with a learning disability.
- Organisations interested in developing or expanding services in this area
At the event, we will
- Provide an overview of current day opportunities provision in Kirklees
- Share emerging proposals for future commissioning approaches including proposed ‘lots’
- Explore how services can better meet peoples needs.
- Seek provider views on:
o delivery models and capacity
o challenges and barriers within the current system
o opportunities for innovation and service improvement
- Discuss expectations relating to quality, outcomes and social value
This is an opportunity to
- Share your experiences, what works well and what the barriers are
- Shape the development of the service specification and commissioning model
- Share your experience, expertise and insight with commissioners
- Engage with Adult Services and Procurement colleagues and ask questions
