Overview
Islington Council is reviewing its strategy for accommodation-based support for people with learning disabilities. Following this review, the Council is planning to commission a long term agreement for provision of these services from 1 January 2018.
In the interim, Islington Council invites suitable expressions of interest from suppliers for a short-term high quality accommodation-based support service for adults with learning disabilities and high support needs; including complex physical and sensory needs and non-verbal communication. The Council anticipates there may be limited competition given the short term nature of this agreement and the significant transfer of staff implications, but is issuing an advert to act transparently to the market.
No additional money is available to support the transfer of staff costs either to or from this agreement at the beginning or end of this contract. The provider will be expected to manage the transfer of staff without the support of the Council.
