For large premises, a quarterly service is typically recommended. This is due to the high volume of components which proportionally represents a higher risk of failure.
Additional details
The purpose of the testing is ensure the fire alarm is in working order and identify any issues. Each detection/call point at the City Hospital is tested once annually.
Testing is limited to different areas of the campus, with each area being tested each month to enable efficient delivery of the Services and minimise disruption by working around the various clinical teams Due to the size and complexity of the system, the testing takes two days per week to complete.
